This exhibition was organized in response to September 11^th, 2001. For this exhibit, 42 New York based artists were asked to give work that reflected their response to the tragic events of that day. The show includes work by such widely acclaimed artists as Leon Golub, Donald Lipski, and Nam June Paik, as well as emerging New York based artists. Assembled by Tsipi Ben-Haim of CITYarts, a non-profit-organization that works with students to create public art around the city, the show has previously traveled to other locations. The show includes paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, and sculptural objects.

This compelling show asks viewers to see the work in a more politicized context. The work, which ranges from specific to non-specific speaks to the altered climate and the way we live differently now as residents of New York City. Daniel Libeskind’s Freedom Tower offers his vision for the future and frames the exhibit. This eclectic and powerful exhibit showcases a wide spectrum of viewpoints and reactions to these cataclysmic events.
