Digital Photography as Fine Art: Works by Bronx High School of Science Students is the first time that the Hebrew Home has collaborated with this distinguished High School. We are pleased to have the opportunity not only to showcase excellent student work but also to pay homage to the creativity evidenced in this fine New York City Public High School.

The works in the show are from Gayle Asch’s Photography courses at Bronx Science. Ms. Asch has focused her classes on digital photography as a form of art, and this show includes her students’ responses to a number of traditional and innovative class assignments, ranging from “Self-Portrait as Someone Else” to “Looking Through.”

While the work is unified through these technical and thematic assignments, each student takes a unique and creative approach. The pieces included were selected by Susan Putterman, the Director of Museums and Chief Curator at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale. The show includes works by 18 students: Venus Bermudez, Tim Chernyaev, Kelly Chiang, Vincent Gau, Matt Green, Eric Ho, Jessie Hu, Irfan Khan, Robin Kim, Emiliya Kojouharova, Nicole Lam, William Liu, Arlen McInerney, Johanny Mejia, Sara Missaoui, Emma Vargas, Megan Williams, and Angela Wong.
